Pre-K thru 6th Grade
For this class, I am tasked with choosing 10 books that fit within the designated age range of preschoolers to 6th graders. This page contains the information necessary for this project, specifically for books meant for children ages 4/5 to 11/12. The library where I work has four types or categories of books for children in this age range:
- Board Books
- Picture Books
- Beginning Readers
- Juvenile Fiction and Non-Fiction, this also includes graphic novels and audiobooks
Below are the categories we were instructed to select from, and the titles I chose for this project. The categories with ** were mandatory for this project.

- I have chosen: ¡Vamos! Let's Cross the Bridge by Raul III - this is a Picture Book
- 1 Caldecott Medal book OR 1 Newbery Medal book**
- I have chosen: Watercress by Andrea Wang - this is a Picture Book
- 1 graphic novel
- 1 informational or biography**
- I have chosen: Tomfoolery: Randolph Caldecott and the Rambunctious Coming-of-age of Children's Books by Michelle Markel - this is a Juvenile Non-Fiction book
